Users of social services often put high expectations and demands on professionals. This is why it is common to experience high levels of stress that can lead to burnout. While changing these structural causes is difficult and requires large\u2011scale reforms, there are <strong>strategies and techniques that can help professionals reduce and better manage stress levels<\/strong> in the short term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Self\u2011awareness and emotional management<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A key first step in managing stress is <strong>self\u2011awareness<\/strong>. Identifying your own feelings and emotions helps detect early signs of stress and act before they intensify. This can make it difficult to delegate tasks and lead to setting goals that are hard to achieve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to self\u2011demand, <strong>self\u2011compassion involves accepting mistakes and being kind to oneself<\/strong>. In this regard, the <strong>Bridge Model<\/strong> \u2014 a tool that describes different communication styles and ways of perceiving and managing relationships \u2014 helps identify both our own preferences and those of colleagues. Understanding these styles makes it easier to <strong>adapt to each interaction, reduce misunderstandings, and anticipate dynamics that may generate tension.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This understanding fosters <strong>empathy<\/strong> within teams, supports healthier relationships, and helps prevent unnecessary tensions in the workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Creating healthy work environments and support networks is essential for promoting professionals\u2019 mental health. It is important to <strong>encourage spaces for listening, trust, and vulnerability, as well as reduce the stigma associated with mental health<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One technique that helps create safe spaces is <strong>Nonviolent Communication<\/strong>, which involves understanding one\u2019s own needs and those of others to practice self\u2011compassion and reach mutual understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Physical health<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Emotional discomfort often has physiological manifestations as well. It is important to stay alert to signs that may have an emotional origin.
