Generalitat de Catalunya

Platform with an online chat and WhatsApp number designed to detect and prevent cases of child violence

BI min

Tot OK? is an online platform designed to prevent, identify, and respond to situations of violence affecting children and teenagers. It offers information and support both to those directly experiencing or who have experienced violence, as well as to people who are aware of such cases in their environment. This service expands on the existing Infància Respon helpline, managed by the Directorate General for the Prevention and Protection of Children and Adolescents (DGPPiA), with the goal of reaching a younger audience more effectively.

The platform is divided into five sections tailored to the user’s age and role: children, teens, young adults, childhood-related professionals, and the general public. Each section uses language and content suited to its audience to ensure clear and accessible communication. Additionally, the platform includes a resource hub with informative materials adapted to the needs of different users.

To make communication easier for children and young people, Tot OK? provides a live chat service and a WhatsApp number. Recognizing that it can be difficult to talk about these situations over the phone, these channels offer more comfortable and familiar ways for youth to reach out.

The professional team includes psychologists, social educators, social workers, and pedagogues. These specialists are responsible for identifying and addressing risk situations and referring each case to the most appropriate support services.

Smart assistance and monitoring lamp designed to reduce the risk of falls in older adults

nobi2 min (1)

Nobi is a smart lamp that provides continuous monitoring and assistance with the goal of improving the quality of life for older adults. It is specifically designed to prevent falls and ensure a rapid response from caregivers in case of an accident.

The lamp combines advanced optical sensors and artificial intelligence with a design suitable for installation in hospitals, care homes, and private residences. During the day, the sensors automatically adjust to ambient light, and at night, they turn on when motion is detected.

When Nobi detects a potential fall, it immediately sends an alert to the responsible caregivers. This alert includes a diagram of the person’s position, using stylized and non-identifiable figures to respect their privacy. This enables a quick and effective response, as emergency teams can immediately assess what kind of assistance is needed.

In addition, Nobi records common obstacles and frequent falls to help prevent future accidents, providing useful information to enhance the safety of older adults.

COTI is a social network designed to improve communication between people with cognitive difficulties, their families, and healthcare professionals. The platform guides users step by step, helping them make the most of all available features. COTI is simple and accessible, tailored especially for those who may not be tech-savvy or who face cognitive challenges that make technology harder to use. Its aim is to involve both family members and professionals to ensure a smooth, inclusive digital experience.

To get started, users create an account and complete two short cognitive games. Based on these, the platform automatically creates a personalized setup. These interactive games assess key areas such as memory, attention, processing speed, and problem-solving abilities. This process gives COTI valuable insight into each person’s cognitive strengths, learning pace, and specific accessibility needs.

With the help of machine learning, COTI intelligently interprets this data to determine the most suitable usage mode for each user. It also considers future changes, either unlocking new features as the user progresses or adapting them in case of cognitive decline.

COTI also allows users to send messages, view follower profiles, manage their own profile, and organize their day through an integrated calendar. It includes dedicated features for caregivers, relatives, and professionals, allowing them to access important information, manage activities, and track the user’s progress. This supports better coordination of care and fosters digital independence for users.

wSocial is a tool that uses artificial intelligence to improve social services intervention

Wsocial (1) min

Currently, the management of massive amounts of information represents a challenge for the administration of social services. wSocial is a tool that allows information to be centralized with the aim of streamlining administrative processes and facilitating the work of professionals.

wSocial is one of the information systems integrated into the eSocial platform, which is aimed at promoting Digital Transformation within the Department of Social Rights of the Government of Catalonia. This platform centralizes and coordinates twelve information systems (IS) that cover various areas of social services, with the goal of standardizing work processes and providing complete and up-to-date information to social service professionals. Within this digital ecosystem, wSocial is the designated tool for social intervention.

wSocial connects and standardizes the information systems of the different Basic Areas of Social Services (ABSS) and Social Rights. In addition, it includes health data and is prepared to access information from other systems such as Education or Justice, as well as from other administrations like the Tax Agency or Social Security.

The tool includes a citizen data viewer in order to offer comprehensive and integrated care focused on individual needs. Data centralization facilitates the planning of interventions, improves the evaluation of the services provided, and increases process transparency, enabling clearer and more effective tracking of each procedure.

wSocial uses a coded and standardized vocabulary called the Intersocial Dictionary, which enables interoperability with other social services and related fields. This vocabulary includes specific terms that help identify social issues or risk situations and is based on the international standard SNOMED CT. As data is entered—typically collected through an interview between the user and the social professional—wSocial automatically detects these predefined words and terms. Thanks to the use of specialized algorithms, it can detect situations of vulnerability and assist professionals in proposing different forms of intervention. Soon, wSocial will also allow interviews to be automatically recorded, transcribed, and translated.

Its goal is to simplify the administrative and operational processes of social services so that professionals can dedicate more resources to direct care. The tool proposes a new agile model of social intervention that improves the quality of relationships between professionals and citizens, offering a more effective and accessible service.

Cognitive telerehabilitation platform offering personalized online treatments

Sense títol (1200 x 630 px) (4) min

Cognitive decline is the loss of functions associated with memory, learning, and other mental processes related to the reduction of brain activity. Its causes are related to aging, various infectious or chronic diseases, or may be the result of an unhealthy lifestyle. Neuropsychological rehabilitation is a therapy that aims to stimulate and develop the cognitive functions of a person that have been affected.

The Guttmann Institute has created an online cognitive rehabilitation platform that offers personalized treatments for people with neurological impairments. Guttmann, NeuroPersonalTrainer (GNPT) is aimed at neurorehabilitation professionals who serve individuals with brain damage, dementia, intellectual disabilities, and mental health-related conditions. Its use is very simple and guarantees high-quality personalized treatment.

Based on a neuropsychological assessment, professionals prescribe a treatment aimed at stimulating the brain areas affected in each patient. The platform allows therapists to plan rehabilitation sessions from a catalog of activities specifically designed to stimulate the deteriorated areas. The therapy consists of sixty sessions of approximately one hour, guided and adjusted by a neuropsychologist who monitors the process and adjusts the planning according to the patient’s progress. During these sessions, the patient performs exercises that, in real-time, adapt to their progress depending on the level of difficulty they present. Additionally, it offers follow-up visits aimed at the patient and/or the family, with the goal of discussing their progress and addressing emotional and behavioral aspects.

GNPT includes programs that automatically manage all available activities and generate personalized treatments automatically. This way, GNPT allows for resource savings and provides a fast and efficient service. It also allows the prescribed exercises to be carried out both from the reference healthcare center and from the patient’s home, ensuring accessible and flexible therapy. The therapist can monitor and follow the patient’s progress without the need to schedule a prior visit. In this way, they can evaluate the results and modify the treatment remotely, facilitating quick adjustments that adapt in real-time to the patient’s evolution.

It also offers professionals the opportunity to take online training to familiarize themselves with all its features and provide an efficient and up-to-date service. Additionally, the Guttmann NeuroPersonalTrainer website details all the centers using it and provides contact information.

Mokin, intelligent translation tool for asylum seekers

Mokin

Instant translator that facilitates communication between asylum seekers and the professionals who assist them

mokin min

Mokin is a live intelligent translation tool that breaks down language barriers between asylum seekers and the professionals who support them. Through instant translation, Mokin immediately translates voices into the language spoken by the respective recipients, allowing both parties to communicate effectively.

Its main function is to help create participation and integration plans through voice-to-voice translation. Its operation is very simple: users speak in their language, and Mokin instantly translates what is said into the language of the interlocutor, without the need for an interpreter.

Mokin uses artificial intelligence models that provide more accurate translations than generic translators. Additionally, it is specialized in terminology related to the social and legal context of migrants, which facilitates their integration. It also takes into account the cultural nuances of users and adapts to the particularities of their native language. The tool is specialized in the languages most spoken by asylum seekers in the Netherlands, such as Persian, Tigrinya, and Arabic, with plans to incorporate additional languages. In this way, it ensures fluid, precise, and understandable communication between asylum seekers and those accompanying them.

Furthermore, it allows users to listen to previous translations, translate texts, download complete transcriptions, and provides explanations and clarifications for translations that may not be clear. In the future, developers plan to include a feature that will generate reports based on the conversations held, as well as offer an incognito mode to ensure a higher level of security, although it should be noted that it currently already complies with the privacy standards of the Dutch government regarding the maintenance of anonymity and the confidentiality of user data.

Currently, they offer a private beta version aimed at public employees and asylum seekers who request support through the form available on their website.

Imatge d'una cama ortopèdica

The AssistData platform provides citizens and professionals with information on assistive products and resources for people with disabilities. Through AssistData, suppliers from the technology, health, and social services sectors describe and detail information about available products, with the goal of facilitating access for those who need them.

The AssistData database groups items according to the international standard ISO 9999, which classifies assistive products by type and function. The website has a search engine that allows users to search for products of interest using keywords that refine the search and ensure a personalized result. Additionally, it has a classification of specific resources targeted at people with a particular disability or illness. The platform offers the possibility to save desired items so they can be registered in the account of the person who needs them.

Each product includes a description of its main features, an informational PDF document on the method of use, different visual resources to aid understanding of its functionality, and, in some cases, the price. This data, along with the supplier’s contact information, is provided and updated by the various product suppliers. By 2023, the platform had 51,351 assistive devices and 953 Danish suppliers. The products have the CE certificate, which indicates that they meet the essential health, safety, and environmental protection requirements established by the European Union.

AssistData also offers other useful resources, such as guides on the general use and maintenance of assistive technology, a forum for interacting and sharing experiences with other users. It also facilitates access to European safety and quality standards and directives related to assistive products. Additionally, it streamlines the purchasing process for professionals responsible for the public procurement of assistive products through templates that reduce administrative burden and ensure compliance with European regulations related to product quality.

The platform also collaborates with professional facilitators who moderate interactions in real-time and provide emotional support to participants.

In addition, the platform has user experience designers who ensure accessible, secure, and simple navigation to maintain the well-being of users. It also has user interface designers who take care of the visual and creative aspects of the platform, providing a clear and attractive structure that offers an enjoyable experience.

The TalkLife platform is part of a digital ecosystem that offers two other platforms, specialized in mental health within more specific areas: TalkCampus, aimed at students, and WorkPlace, focused on emotional well-being in the workplace. Both allow students and professionals, respectively, to share experiences and provide mutual support related to the situations they face. Both connect people globally in an anonymous way and are available in 26 languages.

The TalkLife community allows users to connect with others who are going through similar situations and create peer support networks, encouraging social connections and a sense of belonging to the community.
