HIGEA Community, smart management of social and health organisations

Comprehensive cloud solution designed for the intelligent management of organizations with health, social and labor insertion intervention, which integrates the management of these three areas and exponentially improves the quality of care for the user through the SITT system (Sustainable, Integral and Transversal Technology).

While the current offer of software aimed at health and social management focuses on serving large corporations, this application is adapted to the management model of social, health and labor insertion organizations in the Third Sector through an econòmic investment sustainable.

The program has from the beginning the level of interoperability required by the Catalan Health Service (HC3) and the maximum security of the data. Sustainability comes from cloud data and secure access from anywhere (services, housing, etc.).

It is a program created jointly in 2016 by an alliance between the organisations of the third sector Joia Foundation and AREP, and later Eulalia Torres de Bea Foundation. Account as a technology partner, Open TIC.

Implementation level

Currently, it is working at full capacity at the Joia Foundation, AREP, the Eulàlia Torres de Bea Foundation, the Hospital Sant Jaume and Santa Magdalena Foundation, and the ARAPDIS Association.

RefAid, an app for refugees arriving in Europe

RefAid

Application aimed at migrants and refugees arriving in Europe every day so they can identify the services they can access

RefAid is a mobile application that shows migrants, refugees, and accompanying social workers which nearby services they can access, on a map with a simple interface.

The platform ensures that the information and location of the users is completely confidential, it is not stored, and it is not shared with any authority or police force.

The organizations that appear on the map are trustworthy and verified. The search includes filters for themes such as food, shelter, bathrooms, and information.

RefAid was created in September 2015 by entrepreneur Shelley Taylor, after seeing the shocking image of the body of a three-year-old Syrian child drowned on the coast of Ali Hoca Buruna (Turkey). In this context, Taylor developed the application in just one weekend.

Implementation level

RefAid is being used in 50 countries by 8,000 non-profit organizations, aid organizations, and governmental entities. A large number of leading organizations in the care of migrants and refugees use the application. For example, Doctors Without Borders, Save the Children, Caritas, and the Red Cross.

Intersocial, common vocabulary system in the social sphere

Project that allows defining the common vocabulary to be used for interoperating information in the field of social care

Intersocial aims to integrate data from different management systems in the field of social care in Catalonia through the standardization of the vocabulary used in this sector.

During the research process, an investigation was conducted to determine if there existed a consolidated international vocabulary in the field. Given the absence of a common standard terminology, SNOMED CT was selected as the reference system for representing and exchanging issues and responses within the social sphere.

The first phase of the Intersocial project began in 2016, where the vocabulary was worked on with a group of experts. Specifically, a specific use case focused on chronicity and end of life was defined. The second phase started in 2019, with childhood and mental health as central themes. The last phase, from 2020 to 2021, incorporated youth, dependency, and again childhood.

Implementation level

Since the beginning of the project, 251 concepts have been coded in SNOMED CT, distributed across issues, responses, factors, and observations.

Project for the incorporation of the Internet of things in the domestic sphere to improve energy efficiency in the management of social housing. Begins in Catalonia with a pilot project involving the foundations Familia i Benestar Social, Iniciativa Social, Habitat3 and Foment de l’habitatge social, with the support of Cellnex Telecom and the m4Social program of the Third Sector Platform. Subsequently, it is extended to the Basque Country, through a commission from the public society Alokabide to sensitize social housing public homes located in the Zabalgana neighborhood of Vitoria-Gasteiz.

The installed sensors are: water consumption, electrical consumption, gas consumption, temperature and humidity of the home. The data is stored in a secured digital platform that the company makes available to the participating organizations. Through software, these institutions that manage social housing parks can see all the information on their homes in a control panel.

Genesis

Initially, the project was born under the impetus of the m4Social program of the Third Sector Platform, and is specified on December 18, 2017, by signing a collaboration agreement between Cellnex Telecom and the 4 foundations participating in the pilot project. Subsequently, on January 10, 2019, the Basque Government, through its public company Alokabide, awarded Cellnex a similar sizing project.

Implementation level

In Catalonia, in the year 2018 six social housing units have been sensitized in the Barcelona area. In the Basque Country, 2019 Cellnex has been commissioned for the sensitization of 114 social housing in the Zabalgana district of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
