Soliguide, a digital guide of services for homeless people

Digital kiosk to access the interactive map of services

Online platform and touchscreens present in different large French cities, which allow homeless people, refugees or people with other serious vulnerabilities to contact specialized services that can meet their basic needs. This platform can be used from different electronic devices such as mobile phones, tablets or computers, or also from digital kiosks installed in public spaces (touchscreens located in train stations, reception centres, etc.).

Soliguide is an initiative of the Solinum association, which answers questions such as: Where can I eat? Where can I maintain my personal hygiene? Where can I sleep safely? And not only this, but also reports on other services such as: support and advice on legal issues, advice on job search, language classes, etc.It is an easy way to find services grouped by category and geographical area, according to the needs of each person, and in different languages: French, English, Arabic and Spanish. The data is regularly updated by the team of the Solinum association and, through an App, social professionals can make themselves known on the Soliguide map.

A mobile application that can reduce risks and harms related to drug abuse.

It is based on delivering reliable and objective information and engaging the community. On one hand, the application collects information from a large European network of drug analysis laboratories and alerts real-time to users about the presence in the market of adulterated, contaminated or dangerous drug products. On the other hand, it also offers to the users who use simple colorimetric methods to determine the purity of the drugs, the possibility of directly uploading their they got to the application. This second feature is particularly useful in countries that do not have a network of analysis laboratories.

The app also offers a map for locating drug analysis services, sexual health services, drug use rooms, opioid substitution therapy programs, health and party projects, and exchange  programs for syringes and needles.

To ensure total security and privacy of users, the application does not store any personal data, neither location, nor image metadata.

The application has been developed for Android in 15 different languages. The iOS operating system is expected to be available soon.

Digital bank of pedagogical resources for the social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities, aimed at teachers, families, social entities, etc. It includes learning materials, activities to put into practice in the classroom, articles of interest, games and dynamics in the field of leisure and entertainment.

The resources offered have previously been valued and selected by professionals, and users can both download materials and propose materials that they themselves have developed and that may be useful to other professionals of education and care for people with disabilities intellectual.

A simulator called “Les meves ajudes”, allows on line consultation of the social aids a person is entitled to regardless of the Administration that manages them.

The simulator works anonymously and, based on the input, indicates which social aids may be requested, estimates the amount, and links to the procedures to be followed to request them.

Accessible email with basic functions that make it easy to use

Simplified email interface that operates on Gmail accounts and contains only four basic functions: new messages, inbox, sent messages, and contacts.

It also uses three basic functionalities that facilitate its use: SIMPLEXT, which simplifies complex texts and makes them easily understandable; TEXT2PICTO, which transforms texts into pictograms; and TEXT2SPEECH, which reads the text aloud. The interface is available in Spanish and English.

Learning web page for children 0-4 years with motor, sensory, cognitive and emotional disabilities or with serious behavioral, social or cultural disorders. The web page offers a broad catalog of multimedia activities aimed at developing the motor skills, cognitive and communicative skills of children. Children can access four types of learning activities: cause-effect, basic skills, stories and painting.


The differentiating feature of the web page is the form of access to the activities which allows that people with serious motor or relationship problems are able use all of them.

Children access the computer by Scanning, a simplified form of access to the computer or tablet using two unique buttons, one that is used to do the search and the other to perform the action. These buttons can be the two mouse clicks, the space and enter keys on the keyboard, or switches that emulate them.

In Barcelona, more than 300.000 people aged 65 or older live alone, of which 100.000 are over 80. Vincles BCN is a social innovation project that wants to strengthen the social relationships of older people who feel lonely and improve their well-being through new technologies.

The project has the following main objectives:

  1. Reduce the feeling of loneliness of the elderly,
  2. Maintain and strengthen existing social relationships,
  3. Expand the social relationships of people and create new spaces for the relationship,
  4. Use of IT (Information Technologies) as a communication tool to relate to their environment their environment.

The service uses an app installed on a tablet as a communication tool, which will serve to put people in contact and strengthen their relationships, while creating new ones. Online communication is promoted through the app, while face-to-face meetings are organized. The app allows the user to communicate with his/her family and friends, and with the people who form app-specific user groups.

Despite the existence of the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which promotes autonomy and equality of rights, guardianship procedures still prevail in the judicial sphere.

IDecide is an initiative aimed at empowering people with intellectual disabilities in making daily decisions. For example, in areas such as finances, consumption, or health.

On the other hand, the project aims to provide tools to overcome the legal and social barriers that limit the autonomy of these individuals. It also aims to become a reference space for international best practices in this field, with the creation of guides and materials for professionals.

RefAid is a mobile application that shows migrants, refugees, and accompanying social workers which nearby services they can access, on a map with a simple interface.

The platform ensures that the information and location of the users is completely confidential, it is not stored, and it is not shared with any authority or police force.

The organizations that appear on the map are trustworthy and verified. The search includes filters for themes such as food, shelter, bathrooms, and information.

The Radars project helps to detect, assess, and monitor the situation of elderly people. In this way, it enables elderly individuals living alone to continue in their homes with the support of their surroundings.

Neighborhood and commercial radars are individuals who, with a respectful approach, offer support and communicate risk situations to professional services.

The project combines the active role of Social Services with the shared responsibility of neighborhood entities and services. All of this is based on a community approach that allows the development of shared processes for the detection and connection of elderly people to the community network in their neighborhood.
